One of the wonderful things about life in The United States is the huge variety of landscapes and sights that abound within our borders. Yes, the fountains of Rome are beautiful, and the view from the Eifel Tower is breathtaking. But, if you look within a few miles of where you live, no matter where in the great expanse of our country, you will find a place that you and your love can share as your own "special place".
I've been a lover of our parks and forests since I was a child, and there have been many beautiful places that have become "that special place" for my love and I. I hope to share that fondness with my readers. Through this blog you and I will visit the natural wonders, large and small, that our country has to offer. As I explore the parks and forests I will keep an eye out for that place, that "atmosphere", that time of year or day that will bring hearts together. Some of the places will be meadows, streams, waterfalls, or overlooks. Some may be that homey little cabins or a beautiful lodge. Maybe a romantic restaurant balcony overlooking a meadow and lake.
Many of the parks, and especially the National Forests, are large enough to require multiple visits just to get an idea of what is there. I will vary the areas I visit to give you the best opportunity to learn about that place near you or a destination for your next trip. Also, I invite you to send suggestions, and I welcome guest posts. My goal is a community of lovers, of our parks and forests, and especially of that certain someone.
